Troyce Manassa had his second double-double of the season, scoring 25 points and pulling down 10 rebounds to lead Savannah State to a 94-79 victory over visiting Delaware State.
It was the fifth straight game that Manassa, who hit five 3-pointers and went six for six from the free throw line, has scored at least 20 points.
The win also extended the Tigers winning streak to four games as they improved to 6-1 in games played at Tiger Arena.
Savannah State was down 43-41 at the half and trailed by as much as seven in the second half before mounting a 26-7 run to take a 70-58 lead with 8:16 remaining in the contest.
The crowd of 1,520 saw seven different players score during the run with Robert Kelly scoring eight points and
Zach Sellers adding six.
DSU stopped the bleeding with a pair of 3-pointers by DeAndre Haywood to close their gap to six.
The Hornets trailed by seven with just under five minutes remaining but Savannah State strung together a 18-6 spurt that sealed the win for a 93-74 lead with 1:05 on the clock.
SSU (8-12, 5-2 MEAC) led by as much as 11 points in the first half before Delaware State used a 16-4 run to take a 33-32 lead with 3:25 left in the period.
The Hornets led 43-39 late in the half but Manassa hit a shot at the buzzer to send Savannah State down just two points at intermission.
Kelly added 14 points, six rebounds and three blocks for the Tigers while Sellers had 13 points, five assists and two steals.
Dexter McClanahan chipped in 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists while
Casey Wells contributed 11 points off the bench.
The Tigers, who shot 59.3 percent from the field in the second period, finished the game shooting 45.6 percent from the floor while out-rebounding DSU 46 to 38. SSU scored 27 points off of 19 Delaware State turnovers.
Devin Morgan came off the bench to pace the Hornets with 16 points, making four 3-pointers. The loss drops DSU to 5-16 overall and 2-4 in the MEAC as they extended their losing skid to four games.
