SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University women's basketball senior guard Kenyata Hendrix was named the College Sports Madness Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week, announced by College Sports Madness.
Hendrix averaged 14.0 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per game, 4.5 assists per game in two wins last week.
The Carrollton, Ga., native recorded her first career double-double with 10 points and a career-high 10 rebounds in a 60-49 win at South Carolina State Monday with two assists and recorded 18 points and a career-high seven assists in a 66-62 overtime win against Morgan State Saturday in Tiger Arena.
This season, Hendrix leads the team with 11.7 points per game, which ranks 13
th in the MEAC, and with 2.3 assists per game, which ranks 11
th in the conference. She also ranks tied for eighth in the MEAC with a free throw percentage of 74.6 (44-for-59) and 10
th in the conference making 1.6 3-point field goals per game.
In conference play, Hendrix ranks tied seventh in the MEAC with 14.0 points per game, 11
th with 2.5 assists per game, eighth with a 78.8 (26-for-33) free throw percentage, 11
th with 1.7 3-point field goals made per game and leads the conference with 38.5 minutes played per game.
Hendrix holds the school record in the Division I era with 170 career made 3-pointers and is the third Lady Tiger to record 1,000-plus points with 1,076, which ranks second in school history, and ranks third with 376 made field goals.
The Lady Tigers are back in action Monday against Delaware State University (2-15, 1-4 MEAC) at 6 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
