SAVANNAH, Ga. –The Savannah State University men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field released its 2017 schedule that features five home meets in the outdoor season.
The indoor season started on Dec. 4 with the UNCG Early Bird 6-way meet in Greensboro, N.C., and the next meet for SSU is on Saturday at the Blazer Invitational in Birmingham, Ala.
A week later, Savannah State travels to Lynchburg, Va., for the Liberty Kickoff on Jan. 20, followed by UNCG Dual Meet Matches in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Jan. 29.
SSU travels to Johnson City, Tenn., for the ETSU meet and travels to Landover, Md., for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship from Feb. 16-18.
Savannah State hosts the first three outdoor meets with the Savannah State Eyeopener meet on Feb. 25, Savannah State Relays on March 4 and the Tiger Orange and Blue meet on March 11.
SSU travels first outdoor road meet is in Charlotte, N.C., for the 49er Classic on March 16, followed by the UNF meet on March 24 in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Tigers return home for the SSU Twilight meet on March 29 before heading to Florida for two meets with the Florida Relays on March 31 in Gainesville and UNF meet on April 8 in Jacksonville.
SSU hosts its final outdoor meet with the Cheetah Invitational on April 15, followed by two meets in Columbia, S.C., with the Gamecock Invitational on April 15 and the USC Open on April 22 and travels to the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Penn., on April 27.
The Tigers final two meets are in Greensboro, N.C., with the MEAC Outdoor Championships from May 4-6 and the Aggie Last Chance on May 14.
