SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University women's basketball team (2-12, 0-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) faces Norfolk State University (6-7, 1-0 MEAC) Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in Norfolk, Va.
 
This game was orignially scheduled for last Saturday, Jan. 7, but due to weather conditions in the Norfolk, Va., area postponed the game to Wednesday.
 
Savannah State starts a four-game stretch in seven days with at Hampton (1/9), at NSU (1/11), Florida A&M (1/14) and at South Carolina State (1/16).
 
The last time out, the Lady Tigers fell 38-31 to Hampton 75-46 Monday in Hampton, Va.  Senior guard Kenyata Hendrix led the team with 18 points, while senior forward Jeremica Edwards added eight rebounds and six points and junior guard Lauryn Fields added eight points and four rebounds.
 
The 18 points scored by Hendrix at Hampton gives her 1,031 career points, which moves her into second place in school history in the Division I era.  The Carrollton, Ga., native also made six field goals to move into fourth place with 364 career field goals and needs four made field goals to move into third place.
 
Senior guard Kenyata Hendrix leads the team with 10.6 points per game, while graduate student guard Lauren "Gaby" Moss is averaging 9.8 points per game.  Davis leads the team with 7.6 rebounds per game and with 3.1 blocks per game, and averages 6.2 points per game, while Edwards is averaging 6.3 rebounds per game and 4.9 points per game.
 
Davis ranks fifth in the MEAC in rebounds per game (7.6) and is second in blocks per game (3.1), which ranks 10th in the NCAA and 17th in the country with 40 blocks. 
 
Norfolk State has won four of the last seven games, including winning the MEAC opener 56-47 at Morgan State on Jan. 4.  The Spartans are led by Kayla Roberts with 12.7 points per game and 9.3 rebounds per game, while Jordan Strode is averaging 12.3 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game and Dominique Harper averages 10.1 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game.
 
The Lady Tigers return home to face Florida A&M University (3-13, 1-2 MEAC) Saturday at 4 p.m. in Tiger Arena for Greek Night.
