PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla.- The Savannah State men's golf team finished in third place in the 30th PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championships which was played at the PGA Golf Club on the Wanamaker Course.
The Tigers had a three day total of 940 (314-318-308).
SSU finished behind Bethune-Cookman and Tennessee State who finished tied for first with a score of 907.
Bethune-Cookman emerged as Men's Division I champions, having required only 20 shots to Tennessee State's 21 on the 487-yard, par-5 opening hole, in a playoff.
Metzger shot 228 (77-74-77) followed by Walden's 229 (77-78-74). Otto shot 235 (80-79-76) while Keagle finished with a score of 248 (80-87-81).
Other teams competing in the Division I section were North Carolina Central (951), Florida A&M (959), Maryland Eastern Shore (969) and Chicago State (990).
Drew Owens of Tennessee State was the Division I low medalist with a score of 221 (71-75-75).
