SAVANNAH, Ga. – Kevin Metzger of the Savannah State men's golf team finished tied for ninth with a three-round score of four-over par 220 at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference at Crosswinds Golf Course.
Metzger led SSU in the first round with an one-over par 73 in the first round and followed up with a four-over par 76 in the second round and a one-under par 71 in the final round, while Adam Walden was second with a three-round score of 13-over par 229 to place 16th, including a two-over par 74 in the final round.
Zach Otto finished 19
th with a three-round score of 232, including a three-over par 75 in the second round and
Riley Keagle finished with a three-round score of 243 for 25
th place.
The Tigers started the final round in fifth place, but shot a 16-over par 304 in the final round for a team score of 924 for three rounds and North Carolina Central shot a 25-over par 313 in the final round to finish fifth with a team score of 927 for three rounds.
Augusta University won the championship with 30-under par 834 team score over Bethune-Cookman University, who finished second with a three-over par 867 and Florida A&M University, who finished third with a 42-over par 906.
Individually, Robbin Pettersson of Augusta University started the day with a three-shot lead and won the event by four strokes after shooting a three-under par 69 in the final round for a three-round score of 11-under par 205, while teammates Broc Everett came in second with a seven-under par 209, Jake Marriott finished third with a six-under par 210 and Maverick Antcliff finished fourth with a three-under par 216.
