SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's tennis team (0-18) hosts Western Carolina University (8-5) Thursday in the final home match of the season for Senior Day at the Tiger Tennis Courts.
Tiffany Williams will be honored before the game as the only senior on the team. The Macon, Ga., native has played at the No. 6 singles and the No. 3 doubles positions this season.
The WCU match ends a three-match homestand as the Lady Tigers fell to Southern Mississippi 7-0 Friday and to Florida A&M 6-0 on Sunday in the only home MEAC match of the season.
Geronimo leads the team with a 6-12 singles record, including a 6-9 record at the No. 2 singles position, while Vivas has recorded a 3-15 singles record, including a 2-7 record at the No. 5 singles position.
Western Carolina has lost the last two matches in the Big South Conference to ETSU 7-0 and to Wofford 5-2, but won the previous two matches against Gardner-Webb 4-3 and UNC Asheville 4-3.
The Lady Tigers finish the season in Statesboro next weekend and face the University of Louisiana at Monroe on April 2 at 2:30 p.m. and Georgia Southern on April 3 at noon.
