ORLANDO, Fla.-Savannah State wrapped up play in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Roundup on Saturday with a pair of losses to Edward Waters and Clark Atlanta.
Edward Waters beat SSU 4-0 while Clark Atlanta posted a 5-0 win over the Lady Tigers.
The doubles team of
Madeleine Anne Nolan and
Jaeda Cooper won their match 6-4 while
Nyla Warner and
Sunzahra Banks fell 6-1 and the team of
Katelynn Welch and
Amaia Connor were defeated 6-3.
In the singles matches, no SSU player won.
Nolan lost 6-3, 4-0; Warner lost 6-1, 6-2; Cooper fell 7-5, 4-1; Banks lost 6-4, 3-1; Welch lost 6-3, 6-1; and Connor lost 6-2, 6-2.
The match with Clark Atlnat was just as tough, with the Lady Tigers falling in all matches.
Nolan/Cooper lost their match 5-4, Warner/Banks fell 6-4 and Welch/Reese were defeated 6-0.
Nolan lost her singles match 6-2, 4-3; Warner lost 6-0, 6-2; Cooper fell 6-2, 1-0; Banks lost 7-5; Reese lost 6-0, 6-1; and Connor fell 6-0, 6-0.
Savannah State (2-4, 2-4 SIAC) will return home for a match with Albany State on March 11 at the SSU Tennis Courts for a 1 p.m.Â
