SMYRNA, DEL. – Savannah State University men's and women's cross country teams finish the season at the 2016 MEAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championship Saturday. The men's cross country came in fifth overall in the 8k meet.
Freshman
Sahlu Atakilti led the men in the 8k meet with a time 27:18.03 to finish 20
th overall, while freshman
Cameron Pack posted a time of 27:28.56 for 23
rd place.
Junior
Michael Smith finished 27
th with a time of 27:50.39, while freshman Abbas Abbkar finished 30
th with a time of 28:00.98 and junior
Kenneth Nealy finished with a time of 30:09.91.
Junior
Miara Elmore led the women in the 5k meet with a time a 23:33.23, while freshman
Danielle Derricho posted a time of 24:41.53.
Rounding out the SSU runners were sophomore
Tyneshia Quarterman, junior
Ravyn Mike and freshman
Calita Wyatt. Quarterman finished 85
th while being timed at 26:50.30, Mike was 86
th with a time of 26:52.91 and Wyatt finished 87
st with a time 26:53.04.
