SAVANNAH, Ga. –The Savannah State University women's tennis team starts the 2016 season this weekend with two home matches at the Tiger Tennis Courts.
The Lady Tigers face Presbyterian on Saturday at 10 a.m. and Florida Atlantic at 11 a.m. SSU goes on the road for a four-game roadstand traveling to Conway, S.C., to face Coastal Carolina on Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. and Alabama A&M on Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. and Alabama State on Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. The AAMU and ASU matches are both in Montgomery, Ala.
SSU faces their first conference opponent on Feb. 14 at South Carolina State at 1 p.m. before returning home to face Southeastern Conference opponent Missouri on Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. The Lady Tigers travel for its second conference match of the season to face Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach, Fla., on Feb. 27 at 3 p.m.
The Lady Tigers return home to face Wofford on March 5 at 11 a.m. before traveling to Hilton Head, S.C., to face George Mason on March 7 at 10 a.m. SSU returns home to face Illinois State on March 8 at 1 p.m. before returning for a four-game roadstand.
SSU starts the road trip with two conference matches in North Carolina with North Carolina Central on March 10 at 3 p.m. in Durham and North Carolina A&T State on March 11 at 10 a.m. in Greensboro and continues the road swing with two matches in Charleston, S.C. SSU faces College of Charleston on March 15 at 6 p.m. and Towson on March 16 at 10 a.m.
The Lady Tigers return home for a season-long three game homestand. SSU faces Southern University on March 18 at 2 p.m., Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Florida A&M on March 20 at 10 a.m. and Western Carolina on March 24 at 10 a.m.
SSU finishes the regular season on the road in Statesboro, Ga., facing Louisiana Monroe on April 2 at 2:30 p.m. and Georgia Southern on April 3 at noon.
The MEAC Championship will be held in Norfolk, Va., from April 21-23.
