PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Savannah State University men's golf finished the first day with a two-round team score of 617 to place 14^th at the Rutgers Invitational on Friday at the par-71 Rutgers University Golf Course.
 
The Tigers team score was 312 in the first round and followed that up with a second-round team score of 305. 
 
Leading the way for the Tigers is Chris Faketty, who is tied for 48^th with a two-round score of an 11-over par 153.  Faketty shot an eight-over par 79 in the first round, but shot a three-over par 74 in the second round. 
 
Zach Otto and Adam Walden are one shot off Faketty as they turned in the day with a 12-over 154 two round score.  Otto recorded a six-over 77 in the first round and in the second round, while Walden recorded an eight-over par 79 in the first round, followed by a four-over 75 in the second round.  
 
Aaron Nelson is fourth on the team with a two-round score of 160, with a six-over par 77 in the first round and an 83 in the second round.  Riley Keagle is fifth on the team with a two-round score of 164 with a first-round score of 85 and a second-round score of 79.
 
Devon Jakes, who is playing as an individual, has a two-round score of 172, an 85 in the first round and an 87 in the second round.
 
The Tigers continue the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday with the final round.
