Tiger Bites· The Tigers carry the title of the No. 12 seed into Scope Arena and will face No.5 seed Delaware State in the opening round on March 9 at 6:30 p.m. Savannah State enters the post season with a 9-21 overall record and a 5-11 mark in conference play.
· This will be the Tigers 4
th trip to the MEAC Tournament. SSU has won two of the five games they have played in the tournament with wins over South Carolina State (2014) and Maryland Eastern Shore (2013).
· In their only meeting this season, DSU defeated Savannah State 59-50 on January 19 in Dover, Delaware. In that contest, SSU led 29-21 at the half but were outscored 38-21 in the second period.
Terel Hall was the only SSU player in double figures with 12 points.
· Defense is the pride of any
Horace Broadnax coached team. The Tigers are ranked 1st in the MEAC and 6th nationally in steals averaging 9.0 per game. SSU is also first in the conference and 11th nationally in total steals with 270.
