SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University women's basketball team (1-1) continues its three-game stretch against Southeastern Conference opponents traveling to Gainesville, Fla., to face the University of Florida (2-1) in O'Connell Center on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for SSU first road trip of the season.
 
The last time these two meet on the court was last season when the Lady Tigers defeated the Gators by 10 points, 68-58, in Tiger Arena on Dec. 4.
 
On the season, the Lady Tigers are averaging 70.5 points per game, 36.0 rebounds per game and shooting .491 (55-for-112) from the floor, including .314 (11-for-35) from the 3-point line.
 
After two games, junior guard Kenyata Hendrix leads the team with 15.5 points per game on 11-for-23 (.478) shooting from the floor, including 5-for-15 (.333) beyond the 3-point line.  The Carrollton, Ga., native is averaging 4.0 rebounds per game and 1.5 assists per game.
 
Junior center Tiyonda Davis leads the team with 5.0 rebounds per game and with .889 (8-for-9) shooting percentage from the floor.  The Athens, Ga., native is averaging 9.0 points per game, 2.0 steals per game and 2.0 blocks per game.  Davis needs six rebounds to move in the top-five in total rebounds in the school's Division I era.
 
Last time out, the Lady Tigers fell to Auburn University on Sunday 62-40 in Tiger Arena to begin the three-game stretch against SEC opponents.  Hendrix led the team with 15 points and added four rebounds, while sophomore forward Shanikwa Buie led the team with six rebounds and added five points. 
 
Florida has won its last two games, including an 82-72 home win over in-state rival No. 6/7 Florida State.  UF is averaging 85.7 points per game, shooting .488 (17-for-53) from the field and averaging 41.7 rebounds per game. 
 
The Gators are led by Ronni Williams with 13.7 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game and Simone Westbrook is averaging 10.7 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. 
 
The Lady Tigers will finish their stretch of SEC opponents with No. 8 Mississippi State on Sunday at 3 p.m. in Starkville, Miss.
