THE GAMES:
Savannah State returns to Tiger Softball Field for their final home series of the 2014 season.

The Lady Tigers will take on the North Carolina A&T State Lady Aggies in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) doubleheader on Saturday. They will conclude the series with a single game on Sunday.

The three-game series with the Lady Aggies will be more than a MEAC showdown. SSU head coach Jose Gonzalez will face off against former assistant coach Kenya Peters for the first time. Peters was named the Lady Aggies head coach in September of last year.

Peters' Aggies are 13-17 overall and 5-1 in the MEAC. They share first place in the MEAC Southern Division with the 5-1 Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats.

SSU is 19-16 overall this season with a 3-3 conference mark, and a 12-5 record at home. They are led at the plate by Destiny Webster (.435), freshman Amanda Hallman (.354), and the 2014 MEAC Preseason Player of the Year, Torrian Wright (.349).

From the plate, sophomore Amanda McDowell and Hallman havecombined to record 215 strikeouts, leading the MEAC. McDowell is 10-6 overall this year after 116.1 innings of work. Hallman is 9-10 after 109.1 innings pitched.

SSU will honor seniors, India Morgan, Megan Uhrman, and Rachel White in pregame ceremonies before the team's final home match on Sunday.

Tickets for the games will be available only on game day, at the Tiger Softball Field. For a doubleheader the cost is $4 per patron. For a single game, the cost is $3 per patron. Savannah State students, faculty, and staff can gain free admission with proper school-issued identification.
