THE GAMES:
Savannah State will play their final nonconference games of the 2014 season against Mercer University on Wednesday. The doubleheader was originally scheduled for March 5, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

The Lady Tigers open a 15-game Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) swing after Wednesday's doubleheader, to close out the regular season.

The twinbill takes place in the middle of a nine-game home stand for the Lady Tigers, the longest of the season. SSU is coming off four back-to-back wins against Maryland Eastern Shore and Miles College.

Savannah State and Mercer met three times during the 2013 season. Mercer took the overall series, 2-1. Mercer shutout SSU, 8-0, in the team's last meeting, on April 24 in Macon, Georgia.

SSU sophomore Torrian Wright is ranked 10^th in the nation in home runs per game. Wright leads the team and the MEAC with nine homers this season.
SSU leads the MEAC in team batting average, with a .297.

The Lady Tigers are ranked 44^th in the nation (out of 288) in doubles per game. The team is led by Amanda Hallman and Wright at the plate, each with a .354 batting average. Newcomer's Amber Hallman and Kylie Tierce lead the team in doubles with nine apiece.

The Lady Tigers are 10-2 at home this year. Their only two loses came against South Carolina Beaufort and Brenau University.
