Track and Field Compete In Shamrock Invite

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Savannah State men's and women's track & field team's continued the 2014 outdoor season with competition in the 2014 Shamrock Invitational this past weekend.

Leading the Lady Tigers, Asia Stinson garnered a third place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.69. Jazy Seay-Blane topped the 200 meter dash with a fourth place finish and a time of 24.41. Stinson ran a 24.45 in the same event, finishing in sixth place.

The team of Stinson, Seay-Blane, Aluntrea Davis and Kortney Gray ran a 46.19 in the 4x100 relay for a fourth place finish. The same team ran a 1:39.04 in the 4x200 meter relay, finishing in fifth place.

In the field, Alysia Potts led the Lady Tigers with a seventh place finish in the pole vault competition, with a distance of 3.05m (10'0"). Rajeanne Jarrett recorded a distance of 5.25m (17' 2.75") in the long jump for 11th place, and 11.55m (37" 10.75) in the triple jump.

For the Tigers, Kenshard Hamilton ran a 10.72 in the 100 meter dash, placing in sixth. Justin Leggett ran a 21.85 in the 200 meter dash, finishing in 11th place.

In the 400 meter dash, Antwuan Poole ran a 49.04, followed by DeAndre Pearsons, who ran a 49.26. Kristopher Ballou finished the 800 meter dash with a 1:56.12.

After topping the preliminaries list, Cameron Hall ran a 14.45 for a fourth place finish in the 110 meter hurdles, followed by Lemaar Shakir (14.84), and Felton Chinn (15.15).

Shakir ran a 52.99 in the 400 meter hurdles for a third place finish. Chinn followed Shakir with a 55.50 in the same event.

The six man team of Hamilton, Leggett, Hall, Shakir, Poole, and Pearsons ran a 1:25.74 in the 4x200 meter relay for a fourth place finish.

In the 4x100 meter relay, the team of Hamilton, Leggett, Hall, and Shakir finished fifth with a 41.50. Pearsons, Brandon Davis, Shakir, Ballou, Poole, and Hall ran a 3:16.69 in the 4x400 for a seventh place finish.

In the field, Dolphurs Hayes recorded a distance of 4.75m (14-07.25) for a 13th place finish in the pole vault.
