· With four conference games remaining, the Tigers are still in 5th place in the MEAC standings. North Carolina Central (11-1) is in first place followed by Hampton (9-3), Norfolk State (8-3), and Morgan State (8-3).

· Today marks the first of two times the Tigers and SCSU will meet this year. The next meeting will be SSU's Senior Night on March 6 in Savannah, Ga.

· SSU's leading scorer Deven Williams had a season-high 24 points in the Tigers' win over N.C. A&T last Saturday. His 24 points were 2 shy of his career high 26.

· South Carolina State enters today's game as the 8th seed with 5-7 conference record. South Carolina St., who won their last conference game, are led by Matthew Hezekiah who is averaging 13.2 ppg and 6.1 rpg.

· SSU's Jyles Smith is the conference leader in rebounds averaging 7.8 rebounds per game and 3rd in blocked with 3.0 per game.
