GAME NOTES:
Coming off a disappointing loss in their Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) opener to Bethune-Cookman, SSU begins a tough five-game road stretch against #1 South Carolina.

SSU faces the Gamecocks for the 7th time since elevating to Division I in the 2002-03 season. The Lady Tigers are 0-6 against South Carolina. They fell, 40-82, in their last meeting on December 28, 2013.

Head coach Cedric Baker, in his 12th year, added the SEC to his Division I opposing conference win list earlier this month. The Lady Tigers beat Florida 68-58 in Tiger Arena on Dec. 4. Baker has wins against Conference USA, Sun Belt, Big South, MEAC, SWAC, and Atlantic Sun teams.

Redshirt senior Ezinne Kalu leads the Lady Tigers, averaging 19.5 points a game. Kalu also leads in assists (23). She has played just under 40 minutes in each of the last two games.

SSU has outscored their opponents this year by a +5.3 scoring margin. The Lady Tigers have racked up 426 points, allowing 394.
