SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State Volleyball program has officially released the 2013 schedule this week. Under interim head coach
Jolanta Graham, the Lady Tigers will play 28 games, including four tournaments.
SSU will open the season against Fordham University (August 30) in the Winthrop University Tournament in Rock Hill, South Carolina. They are scheduled to play Tennessee Tech and Winthrop in the tournament, as well.
The Lady Tigers travel to DeLand, Florida for the Stetson University Tournament, September 6-7. They are set to play Stetson, Providence College, and Bethune-Cookman (nonconference game).
After a quick trip up the coast to play Charleston Southern (September 10), they will open the Alabama State Tournament in Montgomery, Alabama against Jacksonville State University on September 13. They are also set to play the University of New Orleans, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and Alabama State in the tournament.
Savannah State will open home play on September 15 in Wilcox-Wiley Gymnasium against Iona College.
A visit to Virginia for the Radford University tournament, September 20-21, will be the final tournament for the Lady Tigers. The Lady Tigers are schedule to play Tulane University, Radford, and Coppin State (nonconference) in the tournament.
SSU returns home on September 25 for a match against The Citadel.
On September 27, SSU will open Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play against Florida A&M at 6 p.m. in Wilcox-Wiley Gym.
The Lady Tigers host Bethune-Cookman in a MEAC game on September 29
th, prior to heading to North Carolina for MEAC games against North Carolina Central and North Carolina A&T State.
SSU will close out the regular season with three home MEAC matches against South Carolina State, North Carolina A&T State, and North Carolina Central.
The Lady Tigers will try and improve a 0-34 record from last year.
