NORFOLK, Va. – Savannah State senior
Erin Hogue was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Defensive Player of the Week for women's basketball the conference announced Monday evening from Norfolk, Virginia.
Hogue pulled down 15 rebounds, stole two passes and blocked a shot in a four point loss to North Carolina Central this past Saturday. She also scored 10 points for her 11
th double-double of the season. Hogue currently holds the school record for double-doubles in a single season.
This is Hogue's fourth MEAC accolade of the year. She was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending November 26, and won outright Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending January 14. Most recently, Hogue earned Player of the Week honors for the week of February 11.
South Carolina State's Fannie Goodwin shared the award with Hogue after she finished the week with 15 rebounds and 14 points in two games against Florida A&M and North Carolina A&T.
Morgan State's Bianca Jarrett was named the Player of the Week, while North Carolina Central's Tisha Dixon earned Rookie of the Week honors.
The Lady Tigers play their final road game of the season against North Carolina A&T Monday evening in Greensboro, prior to returning to Savannah for their last game of the regular season. SSU faces off with Maryland Eastern Shore in Tiger Arena on March 7. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
