FULL RESULTS
LANDOVER, Md. – The Savannah State men's and women's track and field teams concluded the three-day Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championship Saturday at the Prince George S&L Complex in Landover, Maryland.
Leading the Tigers on the track,
Cameron Hall finished second in the men's 50 meter hurdles with a time of 7.86. Hall tied the MEAC record for 60m hurdles set by Bethune-Cookman's Ronnie Ash in 2009. Hampton's Trey Halloway broke the record with a time of 7.84, taking first in the event.
Freshman
Kenshard Hamilton finished fifth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.90.
Chazwyn Price finished eighth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.44. The team of Price, Hall,
Lemaar Shakir and
Brandon Davis placed eighth in the men's 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:22.49.
In the field,
Dolphurs Hayes finished second in the men's pole vault with a distance of 4.57m/15-00.
On the track for the Lady Tigers, the team of Aleah Hordges, Chavonta Roberts, Jazy Seay-Blane, and Jade Bentley finished 10
th in the women's 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:55.72.
In the field, Chantia Taylor finished 13
th in the women's high jump with a distance of 1.57m/5-01.75. Freshman Alysia Potts led the Lady Tigers in the women's pole vault with a vault of 2.59m/8-06.00.
In the long jump, Jaymi White finished seventh with a distance of 5.46m/17-11.00, and 12
th in the triple jump with a distance of 10.86m/35-07.75. Teammate Rajeanne Jarrett fared better in the triple jump with an 8
th place finish and a distance of 11.25m/36-11.00.
In the women's pentathlon, White finished fifth with 3,233 total points. Teammates, Taylor and Jarrett finished 9
th and 10
th, respectively.
The Lady Tigers finished 11
th overall with 13 team points. The SSU men's team finished 12
th with 22 points.
Hampton won the overall team battle with 140.50 points, followed by Morgan State with 64.50. The Norfolk State men won first place with 152.50 points, followed by Bethune-Cookman with 76.
