The Tigers, who have not won a game since mid November, lost their ninth game in a row.

Jyles Smith had 8 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks to lead SSU (2-11).

The Gators scored the first points of the contest but a layup by Smith tied the game at 2-2.

Florida (10-2) quickly answered with a 12-0 run to go ahead 14-2 with 13:27 on the clock. The Gators run was halted by a 3-pointer by Devan Williams.

A jumper by
Alante Fenner pulled SSU within 16-7 at the 10:22 mark but Florida responded with a 14-0 run to increase their advantage to 30-7 with just under four minutes remaining.

Florida led 34-11 at the half.

The teams traded points for a few minutes to open the second period but the Gators began to pull away with eight unanswered points to go ahead 47-15 with 15:27 left in the game.

Florida led 66-26 with 7:15 left and had their biggest lead of the game, 71-26, with 4:21 remaining.

SSU never got closer than 40 the rest of the way.

Florida, who shot 56 percent from the field in the first half, out-rebounded the Tigers 42 to 30.
