THE GAME:
Friday's nonconference matchup against Columbia College will be the Savannah State Lady Tigers opening game of the 2013-14 campaign.

SSU won their only exhibition game of the preseason. Led by returner Ezinne Kalu - who scored 24 points - SSU downed cross-town opponent Armstrong Atlantic 73-62 on Halloween night.

The Lady Tigers opened the 2012-13 season with a home game against Columbia College as well. They beat the Lady Koalas 89-55 on November 9, 2012 in Tiger Arena.

The Lady Tigers are returning nine lettermen to this year's squad and have added five newcomers. Amongst the key starters returning for SSU are Kalu, Zadous Pollard, Jasmine Norman, Charmaine Greene and Jazmin Thomas.

Newcomers Kenyata Hendrix and Bria Dorsey, who could possible get their first starts for SSU against Columbia College, played a key role in SSU's exhibition win. Hendrix scored 11 points, while Dorsey put up 10. In the post, SSU newcomer Tiyonda Davis grabbed 13 rebounds, leading the field.

Head coach Cedric Baker begins his 11^th year at Savannah State and his 21^st year of coaching. He is flirting with a milestone 300 wins this year, with a 286-310 overall record.
