Men’s Golf Competes In Cobra-Puma Invitational

Day One Results

MIROMAR LAKES, Fla. – The Savannah State men's golf team opened the 2013 Cobra-PUMA Invitational hosted by Xavier University on Sunday with the first two rounds of the two-day tournament.

As a team, SSU shot a two-round total of 633 (317, 316). Brandon Neals led the group with a 150 (73, 77), while Travis Roe shot a 153 (74, 79). Rounding out the Tigers, Trevor Podner, Scott Rogers and Jeremy Porcha each shot a 167.

Florida Gulf Coast leads the tournament after day one with a team score of 568. In the individual race, Edward Figueroa of Florida Gulf Coast leads with a 135 (69, 66). Saint Joseph's-Philadelphia TJ McNully is second with a 136 (72, 64).

Also competing is Florida Atlantic, Bethune-Cookman, Stetson, Arkansas State, Xavier, Georgetown, Dayton, St. John's, Northern Kentucky, Saint Joseph's-Philadelphia, and Ohio.

The 54-hole, stroke-play event will conclude on Monday with the final 18 holes, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Miromar Lakes Golf Club.
