SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State women's tennis team will wrap up its 2012 season Friday, April 6 at the new Tiger Tennis Courts with a 1 p.m. match against Presbyterian College.
In conjunction with the final home game, the team will honor its graduating senior in a senior day presentation before the day's match.
The Lady Tigers return to the home court after a four game road trip over last weekend. The team split, winning against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore 7-0 and Coppin State 7-0, and falling to Delaware State 0-7 and Norfolk State 2-4.
Savannah State is 3-12 overall this season and 0-6 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, the first year the team has competed in the conference.
In singles play,
Davita Washington leads the team with a 4-4 record, followed by singles number one player
Sandra Kristjansdottir who is 5-9 overall. Playing in the number two court,
Esmira Gheisary is also 5-9 overall. In doubles, the team of Gheisary and
Chandel McDonie lead the team with a 4-6 overall record.
