PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Savannah State men's outdoor track and field team concluded competition in the annual Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Saturday with a 7th place finish in the 4x200 meter Championship of American.
The team of Chazwyn Price, Cameron Hall, Darius Baker and Gregory Terrell finished the 4x200 with a time of 1:25.01. It was the first time in school history a team qualified and placed in the annual Penn Relays. The team qualified for the finals with a 7th place finish and a time of 1:24.75 on Friday.
In field events Saturday, Justin Taylor finished 6th in the triple jump with a distance of 14.63m.
Over a 100 different Colleges and Universities compete in America's oldest and largest track and field competition. The first event was held in 1895 and continues to be hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.
The Savannah State men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will compete in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship for the first time beginning May 3 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
