NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Savannah State won a pair of events at the 13th annual Ed Temple Classic held at the Gentry Center on the campus of Tennessee State.
Etchein Assinzo won the 800m race with a time of 1:58.33 and the "A" 4x400m relay team (Assinzo,
Darrius Baker, Chaz Price and
Eric Plump) captured first with a run of 3:21.34.
Earning 3rd place finishes for SSU were Plump in the 200m,
Ruben Isreal-McBee in the one mile and 3000m races.
Plump had a time of 22.36 in the 200m while Isreal-McBee was time at 4;30.49 in the one mile race and 9:02.83 in the 3000m.
Justin Taylor was 4th in the triple jump with a leap of 14.85m while Price and Greg Terrell had 5th place finishes with Price having a time of 50.7 in the 400m and Terrell having a time of 22.56 in the 200m.
Kris Ballou was 6th in the one mile with a run of 4:40.92 and 10th in the 800m with a time of 2:00.95.
The "B" 4x400m relay team (
Felton Chinn,
Lemaar Shakir, Terrell and
Marquis Mayfield) finished 7th with a time of 3:26.37; Baker was 9th in the 200m with a run of 22.79 and
Cameron Hall was 10th in the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.72.
