Arnold Louis and
Deric Rudolph combined to score 42 points to lead Savannah State to a come from behind 72-60 win over visiting Coppin State in Tiger Arena.
Louis came off the bench to score 24 points, pulled down 17 rebounds and get four steals while Rudolph scored 18 points and hit five 3-pointers
The Tigers trailed 38-29 at the half and by as many as nine points in the second period before launching their comeback bid.
Trailing 45-36 with 17:16 on the clock, SSU strung together a 27-8 run to go ahead 63-53 with 4:34 remaining.
SSU built a 11 point lead late in the contest before pulling out the 12-point victory.
The win gives Savannah State a 2-1 conference record and 6-9 overall.
The Eagles received a 15 point effort from Tony Gallo while falling to 6-9 overall and 1-1 in the MEAC.
SSU led by as many as seven points in the opening half before Coppin rallied to take a 29-26 edge with 4:46 on the clock following a 10-0 run.
A 3-pointer by Rudolph knotted the score a 29 with 3:55 left but the Eagles ended the half with nine unanswered points.
Savannah State shot 54.8 percent in the second half from the floor and 46.8% for the game. CSU shot 46.8 percent from the floor for the game but made 20 turnovers.
Rashad Hassan had nine points for SSU while Preston Blackmon had seven assists.
The Tigers earned the win despite shooting 26.9% (7 for 26) from the free throw line.
