WICHITA, Kan.- 
Darice Fountaine scored a game-high 25 points but it would not be enough as Savannah State fell to 3-5 after a 67-41 loss to Wichita State.
The game was a homecoming for Fountaine, who is a Wichita native.
SSU jumped out to a 7-0 lead but the Shockers bounced back to tie the game at 11 and take a 20-11 lead with 8:48 left in the first half.
The Lady Tigers would trail 25-18 with 3:35 on the clock but WSU went on a 9-2 run to go ahead by 14.
Wichita State led 34-22 at the half.
Trailing 48-35 at the halfway mark of the second half, the Shockers put SSU away with a 10-0 run to make the score 58-35 with 6:17 on the clock.
With 1:04 remaining, Wichita State (5-3) had their largest lead of the afternoon at 28 points.
The crowd of 9,831 in Koch Arena saw the Shockers place three players in double figures with Breanna Dawkins, Morgan Boyd and Michelle price all scoring 10 points.
Savannah State shot 42.7 percent from the floor in the opening half but finished the game with a 37.5 shooting percentage. SSU was 9 of 22 from the free throw line.
WSU shot 48 percent from the field for the game.
Fila Smith had a career-high eight rebounds for the Lady Tigers while 
Alisha Nelson added four blocks.
