HARDEEVILLE, S.C.- Savannah State runners
Tyrone McCoy and
Ruben Isreal-McBee finished in the top five in the Sand Shark Invitational hosted by South Carolina-Beaufort at the Hardeeville School Complex and the adjacent Jasper Park.
McCoy placed 4th with a time of 26:40 while Isreal-McBee was 5th with a run of 26:41 in the field of 41 runners.
Etchien Assinzo was 17th with a time of 27:59 followed by Christopher Ballou who was 19th with a time of 28:25, Miguel Velasquez, who was 21st with his time of 29:00 and Darrius Thorrton, whose time of 33:22 was good enough for 37th place.
As a team, SSU placed 3rd and had a average time of 27:45.
USCB won the men's event while the Sand Shark's Marshall Meyer was the top runner with a time of 25:36.
Representing the SSU women was Dominque Givance who placed 14th out of 28 runners with a time of 21:02.
The Savannah College of Art & Design “A” squad won the event while SCAD's Hannah Lieberman was the top finisher with a time of 18:33.
