TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Amanda Reyes threw a no hitter to lead Florida A&M to a 8-0 win in the first game of a double header with Savannah State. The Rattlers completed the sweep with a 7-4 victory in game two.
Reyes pitched five innings, struck out four and allowed one walk.
Krystle Frost took the loss for SSU. Frost pitched four innings, struck out three but allowed 10 hits and eight runs. Only one of the runs were earned.
FAMU (9-23) scored once in the first inning but exploded for seven runs in the fourth.
In game two, Savannah State scored three times in the first inning but FAMU scored twice in the second and once in the third to tie the contest.
The Rattlers took the lead for good with a run in the fourth and scored twice more in the fifth and once in the sixth. SSU scored the last run of the game in the seventh.
Crystal Williams had a double and scored a run for the Lady Tigers while
Jessica Weimerskirk had two RBI.
Rachel West pitched six innings for SSU (14-22), giving up 12 hits and seven runs.
