At Bradwell Institute he finished his senior season with 200 carries for 1,252 yards with 15 touchdowns. He was named the Region 3-AAAAA Offensive Player of the Year.
Personal: Born on 8 27 1992, Parents are Anjanette Howell, and Shelton Barnes… hobbies include playing football, basketball and hanging out with friends… also recruited by Wofford College… high school coach is Jim Walsh. 
2010: The freshman rusher led the team with 119 carried for 583 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. Barnes played in all 11 games and averaged 4.7 yards per carry and 51.2 yards per game. He had a season-high 120 rushing yards along with one touchdown in SSU’s win over South Carolina State. His longest rush for 40 yards was against Florida A&M on Oct. 16.
