Personal: Born on August 29, 1992… Parents are Rosalyn Evans… Hobbies include playing basketball, playing football and spending time with family… Also recruited by Tuskegee, Georgia Southern, Alabama State, and South Carolina State.

2012: Heyward emerged in his junior year as the Tigers best receiver. He led SSU in kick returns, receiving, all-purpose yards and scoring. Heyward amassed 751 yards on 44 receptions with six touchdowns. In a September 22 game against North Carolina Central, Heyward caught an 82-yard season-high bomb, en route to a career-high 220 yards of offense. Heyward doubled as a major asset on special teams. He recorded a team high 286 yards on 11 kick returns. His longest return was a 71-yarder against Howard University on September 29. The Savannah native ended 2012 with 1,059 all-purpose yards and 36 points.

2011: Heyward played in 10 games for the Tigers, recording 16 receptions for 207 yards with one touchdown. He averaged 12.9 yards a reception. He had 18 kickoff returns for a total of 399 yards, averaging 22.2 yards a return. He led the team last year in punt returns with five, and a total of 36 yards. Heyward caught a season high three receptions for 55 yards in the October 8 game against Morgan State.

2010: Heyward played in 11 games and led the team in receptions (56), and yards (423). He finished the season with one touchdown reception in SSU’s only win of the season against N.C. Central. Heyward caught a season-high ten passes for 104 yards against Albany State on Sept. 25, 2010.
