ATLANTA, Ga.- The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2025-26 preseason all-conference men's basketball teams on Wednesday.
Representing Savannah State University is
Javonte Landy who was named a Second Team Preseason All-SIAC pick.
Preseason teams are as voted by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.
Landy did not make the 2024-25 all conference team but he was named to the SIAC all tournament team, after helping the Tigers to their second conference tournament championship in four years.
A Savannah, Georgia native, Landy started a dozen of the 30 games he appeared in last season and averaged 28.2 minutes on the floor per night.
He shot .37 percent from the field while making 31 percent of his 3-point shots and .72 percent of his free throws.
The 5-foot-11 guard finished the season averaging 10.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
Landy scored in double figures 13 times during the season, including a season and career-high of 23 points against Tuskegee in the SIAC Tournament championship game.
Other season-highs include six rebounds against Edward Waters, eight assists against Albany State, five steals against Allen and a 7 of 9 performance at the free throw line against Edward Waters.
Landy and his SSU teammates will open the 2025-26 season on the road against St. Leo on November 14.
