ROME, Ga.- Savannah State fell to 0-7 on the season after losses to Clark Atlanta and Benedict in the SIAC Round Up on Friday afternoon.
Clark Atlanta edged Savannah State 3-4 with
Madeleine Anne Nolan,
Trinitee Henry and
Yanna Cunningham earning singles wins.
Nolan defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-0 while Henry posted a 1-0 win and Cunningham won by forfeit.
Nyla Warner lost her match 1-6, 0-6, Amaia Conner fell 3-6, 0-6 and
Katelynn Welch lost 3-6, 1-6.
The doubles team of Conner/Cunningham won by default while Warner/Welch lost 1-6 and Nolan/Henry lost by a score of 3-6.
In the 2-5 setback to Benedict, Nolan won her singles match 6-0, 6-0 while Cunningham won hers by default.
Warner lost her match 3-6, 2-6 and Conner, Welch and Henry all lost their singles match 0-6, 0-6.
Warner/Welch lost their doubles match 3-6 and Nolan/Henry fell in their match 1-6. The team of Conner/Cunningham won by default.
SSU will return to action on March 28 when they host Fort Valley State.
