SOUTH FULTON, Ga.- The third day of competition at the South Fulton Tennis Center came to a close on Saturday in the inaugural Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tennis Fall Open.
With titles up for grabs, fourteen singles and 32 doubles matches highlighted the final-day slate.
Savannah State's duo of
Madeleine Anne Nolan and
Nyla Warner won their doubles match over C. Kpadonou of Benedict and L. King from LeMoyne-Owen 8-2 to capture third place in Flight T.
Nolan won fifth place in Flight A with her 6-2, 6-0 victory over Edward Waters' A. Alexis and Sunshara Liburd-Banks had a 6-3,7-5 win over A. Turnbough of Clark Atlanta to win fifth place in Flight D.
In the doubles extra matches, Liburd-Banks and
Katelynn Welch fell to A. Alexis/ S. Lopez from Edward Waters 8-2.
Amaia Conner lost to LeMoyne-Owens' L. King 7-5, 6-2 in the Flight F seventh place match, Warner fell to K. Talbert of Clark Atlanta in the singles extra match 7-5, 7-6, (8-6) and Welch lost to L. Viehrig of Edward Waters in the Flight F fifth place match.
