SAVANNAH, Ga.- About four months after playing their last game of the 2023 season, the Savannah State University football team has begun their spring football drills, to prepare for the 2024 campaign.

The Tigers will work out in helmets on their first two days of practice on March 14 and 15. The first practice of the spring will be at 6:45 a.m. while the second practice will begin at 4 p.m.

The team will don helmets and shoulder pads for their third practice on March 16 at 9 a.m. and will take a week off for spring break.

Practice will resume on March 26 with the team in helmets only and on March 27 and 28 the squad will go with helmets and shoulder pads.

The Tigers will dress out in full gear on March 29 and 30 for practices at 6:45 a.m. and 9 a.m. respectively.

April 1 and 2 will see the team in helmets and should pads at 6:45 a.m. while they finish the spring drills in full gear on April 3 and 4.

The spring practices will conclude on April 5 with the annual Orange and Blue Spring Game at 5 p.m. at Theodore A. Wright Stadium.

Head coach
Aaron Kelton will start his third season as head coach of the Tigers on September 7 against Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the Pete Richardson Classic.
