Savannah State To Offer Football Camps In June

SAVANNAH, Ga.-  Savannah State University head football coach Aaron Kelton and his coaching staff will have three football camps in June.

There will be a Friday Night Lights Camp on June 16, a Football Elite Prospect Camp on June 17 and a 7v7 Camp on June 21.
 
The Friday Night Lights Camp is $10 per person and is for ages 8-13. It will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The purpose of this camp is to assist young athletes in improving their technique, fundamentals, and Football IQ. It will give youth football players the opportunity to be instructed by the SSU Coaching Staff.

The camp is designed to allow these young athletes an opportunity to participate in a college-style workout, complete with position drills, scrimmages, and game situations.

The cost of the Elite Prospect Camp is $40 per player and is geared towards athletes in high school, prep school and junior college prospects. It will be from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. This camp will provide an opportunity for athletes to showcase their skills and performance to the coaching staff and other college coaches and scouts.

It is also designed to allow these athletes an opportunity to participate in a college-style workout, compete with position drills, scrimmages, and game situations. The camp will also allow the SSU coaching staff to evaluate players on their potential to play football at a collegiate level.

The 7v7 Camp is for athletes in grades 8-12 and the cost is $300 for a team of ten players. For each additional player the cost will be $30 for each player. The purpose of this camp is to scout high school athletes and give them opportunities to showcase their skills and abilities as an athlete with aspirations to play on a collegiate level. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

All three camps will be held on the SSU campus at Theodore A. Wright Stadium.
