Chance Sets PR In NCAA Regional Championship

Lakeland, Fla. – Closing out another great season, Kayla Chance set a new personal best record at the 2022 South Regional NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championship Saturday morning.
 
Chance ran a 24:35 in the 6k finishing 84th in a field of 119 for a collegiate best record.
 
She earned a trip to the NCAA South Region Championship after winning the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Women's Cross Country Championship earlier this month. She ran 19:32.23 for her second title.
 
The two-time SIAC Champion also holds the school record for the women's cross country 5k (18:47), which she set in September of 2021. Chance was also named the SIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
