Destinee Langston Named SIAC Newcomer Of The Week

ATLANTA Ga. – Savannah State redshirt freshman Destinee Langston was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Newcomer of the Week in a press release from the conference office this afternoon.  

Langston had two strong outings this past week for Savannah State. In a 3-1 win over Fort Valley State, she recorded her first career double-double with 11 kills and 15 digs. In a loss to Coastal Georgia, the outside hitter led the Lady Tigers with 4 kills.
 
Following the opening six games of the 2021 season, the Fayetteville, Ga. native is second on the team in kills (32) and digs (41).
 
Savannah State volleyball (3-3, 1-1 SIAC) return to action this weekend with the SIAC Crossover Tournament in Cartersville, Ga. The Lady Tigers will play seven conference games over the three-day tournament.
