Ty'lik Evans had a career day but it would hardly be enough as Savannah State lost to Bethune-Cookman 121-92.
Evans, a 5-foot-7 spark-plug had career-highs in made field goals (6), points (20) and rebounds (10).
It was the Tigers third straight loss and the most points the program has surrendered since giving up 128 points against Oregon on December 3, 2017.
SSU has given up at least 100 points in 14 contests this season.
After five minutes of play in the first half, Bethune-Cookman led 19-9. Following a pair of free throws by SSU's
Javaris Jenkins, the Wildcats went on a 24-2 run to increase their lead to 33-13 at the 12:26 mark.
Savannah State (13-16, 10-4) whittled their deficit down to 49-37 with 4:52 showing, following a pair of free throws by
Jahir Cabeza but B-CU ended the period with a 12-7 spurt to take a 61- 44 edge into intermission.
The crowd at Moore Gymnasium saw the Tigers score the first points of the second half when
Alante Fenner made a layup but Bethune-Cookman responded with a 25-6 run that put them up 86-52 with 14:35 remaining.
Bethune-Cookman reached triple digits when Armani Collins hit a 3-points with 9:05 left and a dunk at the 8:18 mark by Isaiah Bailey gave them their largest lead of the game at 104-62.
Savannah State responded by going to a 23-6 run that got them as close as 112-85 with 3:46 left. During the Tigers run, five players scored with Evans getting nine points and Fenner adding six.
SSU never got any closer than 27 the rest of the way.
Fenner had 22 points for the Tigers. Cabeza added 13 and
Dexter McClanahan chipped in ten.

The Tigers made just eight turnovers in the game but shot 35.6 percent from the field, 23.1 percent from beyond the arc and 58.1 percent from the free throw line.
Bethune-Cookman out-rebounded SSU 59 to 42. The Wildcats had three players with at least 11 rebounds.
Collins had 27 points for B-CU while Bailey had triple double with 19 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists.
The Wildcats (17-12, 11-3 MEAC) shot 56.3 percent from the floor, made 48.5 percent of their 3-point shots and 71.4 percent of their free throw attempts.
The game was a homecoming for Savannah State head coach
Horace Broadnax who spent 1997-2002 as the B-CU head coach. He also served as an assistant coach for the Wildcats during the 1993-94 season.
