SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's basketball team (2-15, 0-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) starts a two-game roadstand with Delaware State University (3-17, 2-5 MEAC) Saturday at 2 p.m. in Memorial Hall.
 
Junior forward Kaylee Allen leads the Lady Tigers with 14.2 points per game, which ranks fifth in the MEAC, and averages 5.4 rebounds.  The Cincinnati, Ohio averages 17.5 points, which ranks fifth in the conference, and 8.2 rebounds, which ranks tied for sixth in the MEAC in conference play.
 
Freshman center Alexxus Sowell leads the team with 7.6 rebounds per game, which ranks sixth in the MEAC and leads with 1.8 blocks per game, which ranks third in the conference.  In conference play, Sowell averages 8.2 rebounds, which ranks tied for sixth in the MEAC, and leads the conference with 2.8 blocks.
 
Delaware State won the last time out with a 62-54 win at Morgan State Monday to snap a four-game losing streak.  The Hornets are led by Najai Pollard, who was named the MEAC Player of the Week Monday, with 18.6 points per game and with 9.8 rebounds per game, while Mikah Aldridge averages 13.5 points and Aaliyah Davis with 7.1 points. 
 
The Lady Tigers finish the roadstand with a trip to Tallahassee, Fla., to face Florida A&M University Wednesday at 6 p.m.
