· The Tigers take on Norfolk State in the final of a four-game home stand Monday night in Tiger Arena.
 
Game Notes:
Tiger Bites
· SSU is on a three-game win streak for the first time this season. The last time the Tigers won three consecutive games was the end of the 2016-17 season.

· SSU is currently in a tie for third place with N.C. Central in the MEAC standings. The Tigers are 4-1 in the conference for the 1st time since 2013-14 when they began conference play 5-0.

· SSU leads the nation in three point attempts with 800. The Tigers are in the top 10 nationally in: steals per game (7th) averaging 9.4; three-point field goals per game (6th) averaging 11.5; total 3-pointers made (5th) with 230; total steals (56h) with 187; and turnovers forced (6th) averaging 18.15.

#1 IN THE MEAC
The Savannah State Tigers rank #1 in the MEAC in 10 statistical categories. The Tigers lead the conference in: 3-pt field goals attempted (800), assist turnover ratio (1.07), scoring offense (80.8), steals per game (9.4), 3-pt field goals per game (11.5), total 3-pointers made (230), total assists (302), total steals (187), turnover margin (4.1), and turnovers forced (18.15).
 
MEAC DEAN OF COACHES
Horace Broadnax is the Dean of MEAC basketball coaches. He is in his 12th year at the helm of the SSU program
 
MOVING BACK DOWN
In April 2017, the Savannah State administration made the decision to move SSU athletics from Division I to Division II. The move will become effective following the 2018-19 season.
 
MCCLANAHAN LEADING SSU
Dexter McClanahan is 10th in the conference in three-point field goals made with 42 and is averaging 2.1 made threes per game. McClanahan is also 10th in the conference in scoring averaging 14.7 ppg.
 
TOUGH SCHEDULE
SSU's non-conference schedule features five teams that are ranked in the AP Top 25 poll (Michigan State, Wichita State, Cincinnati, Baylor and Texas A&M)
 
CONFERENCE CLASH—SSU will play teams from 11 different Division I conferences (MEAC, American, Southern, Sun Belt, Ohio Valley, SWAC, Big 12, Colonial, Southeastern, Atlantic Coast and Big 10
 
SIGHT SEEING—SSU will play games in 12 different states this season (Ohio, Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas, Kansas, Georgia, Virginia, Michigan, Maryland, Delaware, Florida and South Carolina).
 
SSU Division I
Savannah State University made the decision to move from Division II to Division I in 1998, while opting to leave the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and become independent of conference affiliation. SSU played their first season as a Division I institution in 2002 when the NCAA granted full membership. The Tigers are currently playing as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
 
MEMORY LANE
50 years ago the 1967-68 SSU team posted a 19-9 record, averaged 97.1 points and game and had five players finish the year averaging in double figures in scoring. The team scored at least 102 points in 13 games.
