SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's basketball team (2-13, 0-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) continues the four game homestand with Hampton University (6-9, 2-0 MEAC) Saturday at 4 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
Junior forward
Kaylee Allen leads the Lady Tigers with 13.8 points per game, which ranks sixth in the MEAC, and averages 5.2 rebounds. The Cincinnati, Ohio averages 17.8 points, which ranks fourth in the conference, and 8.8 rebounds, which ranks fifth in the MEAC in conference play.
Freshman center
Alexxus Sowell leads the team with 7.8 rebounds per game, which ranks fifth in the MEAC, after coming off a career-high 15 rebounds against Howard Monday, and leads with 1.5 blocks per game, which ranks sixth in the conference. In conference play, Sowell averages 9.0 rebounds per game, which ranks fourth in the MEAC, while freshman guard
Heniaya Moton averages 7.5 points.
Hampton has won the last four games, including two conference games and are led by Allina Starr with 11.9 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game, Jephany Brown with 11.2 points per game and Monnazjea Finney-Smith with 10.9 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game.
The Lady Tigers finish the homestand with Norfolk State University Monday at 6 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
