Seven SSU Track and Field Student-Athletes Received MEAC Academic Honors

NORFOLK, Va. – Seven Savannah State University men's and women's track and field student-athletes were named on the 2016 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Track and Field All-Academic Team, announced by the conference on Wednesday.
 
On the men's track and field team, freshman Abbkar Abbas, junior Randolph Barratt, junior Donterious Copeland, senior Justin Leggett, sophomore Kenneth Nealy and junior Elijah West were named to the team, while junior Kourtney Sizemore was named on the women's track and field teams.
 
Overall, a total of 234 student-athletes were announced on the team from the men's and women's track and field teams.  To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average that includes sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as transfer student-athletes, who have been in residence at their institution for at least a year.
