SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's tennis team (0-20, 0-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) fell to South Carolina State University (4-8, 4-0 MEAC) 7-0 Tuesday at Tiger Tennis Courts.
 
South Carolina State won the doubles point after winning at the No. 3 doubles position by default and Intissar Rassif and Andjela Vasic defeated SSU doubles team of senior Sandy Lochu and freshman Lili-Morgan Pastore 6-0 at the No. 2 doubles position to clinch the doubles point.  SCSU doubles team of Marketya Marcanikova and Claudia Roca defeated SSU's doubles duo of junior Rachida El Kateb and senior Jennyfer Vivas 6-1 at the No. 2 singles position to go up 1-0.
 
The Lady Bulldogs went up 2-0 after winning at the No. 6 singles position by default and went up 3-0 after Vasic defeated Pastore 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 3 singles position.
 
South Carolina State clinched the match after Marcanikova defeated Burrows 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 4 singles position to go up 4-0 and went up 5-0 after Oleksandra Filippova defeated El Kateb 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 2 singles position. 
 
SCSU went up 6-0 after Rassif defeated Lochu 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 1 singles position and won the final match after Andjela Mihajlovic defeated Vivas 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 5 singles position.
 
The Lady Tigers host the season finale Sunday against Bethune-Cookman University at 11:30 a.m. at Tiger Tennis Courts.
