NORFOLK, Va. – Savannah State University men's field senior Donterious Copeland was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference Thursday.
 
Copeland won the men's triple jump at the UNCG Early Bird Meet this past Sunday with a jump of 15.34 meters (50-4) and finished sixth in the long jump with a distance of 6.72 meters (22-0.75) to tie a person-best.
 
The Macon, Ga., native also competed on the 4x400-meter relay team that finished seventh with a time of 3:30.23. 
 
The men's and women's track and field teams continue the indoor season with the Blazer Invitational Jan. 12 in Birmingham, Ala.
