SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University women's basketball team (2-13, 0-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) returns home to face Florida A&M University (3-13, 1-2 MEAC) Saturday at 4 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
 
Savannah State continues a four-game stretch in seven days.  The Lady Tigers fell to Hampton (1/9) 75-46 and to Norfolk State (1/11) 61-55 and faces FAMU Saturday and South Carolina State Monday.
 
The last time out, the Lady Tigers battled back from a 23-point deficit to pull within three points, but NSU won 61-55 in Norfolk, Va.  Senior guard Kenyata Hendrix led SSU with 20 points, while senior guard Rhianna Warren added 11 points and senior center Tiyonda Davis recorded 14 rebounds, five points and five blocks. 
 
The five made field goals by Hendrix against NSU gives her 370 career made field goals, which moved her into third most in school history in the Division I era and trails second place by 22 made field goals.  The Carrollton, Ga., native holds the school record in 3-point field goals made with 167 and ranks second in scoring with 1,051.
 
Hendrix leads the team with 11.2 points per game, while graduate student guard Lauren "Gaby" Moss is averaging 9.8 points per game.  Davis leads the team with 8.1 rebounds per game and with 3.2 blocks per game, and averages 6.1 points per game, while Edwards is averaging 6.1 rebounds per game and 5.1 points per game.
 
Davis ranks fourth in the MEAC in rebounds per game (8.1) and is second in blocks per game (3.2), which ranks seventh in the NCAA and 11th in the country with 45 blocks. 
 
FAMU is 2-2 in the last four games, including defeating Morgan State 51-48 the last time out, the only Division I win of the season.  The Rattlers are led by Florence Ouattara with 9.1 points per game with 3.4 rebounds per game, while Shakerrya Morrison is averaging 8.5 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game and Cedricka Sweeting is averaging 6.1 points per game.
 
The Lady Tigers travels to Orangeburg, S.C., to face South Carolina State University (3-9, 0-1 MEAC) Monday at 5:30 p.m.
