SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's basketball team (2-9) returns home for a season-high five-game homestand starting with Allen University (7-6) on Monday at 7 p.m. in Tiger Arena in the final nonconference game of the season.
 
Last season, the Lady Tigers defeated Allen 95-47 in Tiger Arena on Jan. 6.
 
After 11 games, the Lady Tigers are shooting .337 (193-for-572) from the floor, including shooting .292 (45-for-154) from the 3-point line.  SSU is averaging 46.1 points per game, 34.2 rebounds per game and has recorded 87 assists, 92 steals and 36 blocks. 
 
Junior guard Kenyata Hendrix leads the Lady Tigers with 10.2 points per game and has recorded a .311 (38-for-122) shooting from the floor, including shooting .290 (20-for-69) from the 3-point line.  Hendrix is shooting .696 (16-for-23) from the free throw line and is averaging 2.8 rebounds per game.  The Carrollton, Ga., native ranks 10th in school history with 642 points in the Division I era and third in school history with 101 made 3-pointers.
 
Junior center Tiyonda Davis leads the team with 6.5 rebounds per game and 2.3 blocks per set, which ranks second in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.  The Athens, Ga., native needs 10 rebounds to move into third most in school history in the Division I era.  Davis has recorded 552 rebounds in her career. 
 
The last time out, the Lady Tigers fell to Jacksonville 65-52 in their final road nonconference game of the season.  Junior guard Chelsea Frazier led SSU with a career-high 12 points, while junior guard Lauryn Fields tied a career-high with 11 points.  Davis led the team with nine rebounds and added six points on 3-for-5 shooting.
 
Allen opened the season winning the first four games, but has gone 3-8 since then, including losing the last two games.  Iyanna Jones leads the team with 16.0 points per game and with 4.7 rebounds per game, while Dekoya Mack is averaging 11.4 points per game and Kamya Thomas is averaging 11.3 points per game and 3.0 rebounds per game. 
 
The Lady Tigers continue the homestand with their MEAC home opener against North Carolina A&T State on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
