SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's basketball team (6-12, 3-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) continues its four-game roadstand traveling to North Carolina to face North Carolina A&T State University (9-10, 5-3 MEAC) in Greensboro on Saturday at 2 p.m.
 
The two teams meet earlier this season in Tiger Arena with the Lady Aggies coming out on top with a 69-59 win on Jan. 9 to spoil the Lady Tigers MEAC home opener.
 
After 18 games, the Lady Tigers are shooting .368 (353-for-959) from the floor, including shooting .293 (72-for-246) from the 3-point line.  SSU is averaging 51.9 points per game, 35.3 rebounds per game and have recorded 177 assists, 162 steals and 69 blocks.  SSU is averaging 9.0 steals per game, which ranks third in the MEAC and 91st in the NCAA and is holding opponents to a .375 field goal percentage, which ranks second in the MEAC and 92nd in the NCAA.
 
Junior guard Kenyata Hendrix leads the team with 12.3 points per game, which ranks 10th in the MEAC, and is coming off a career-day against Norfolk State.  Hendrix recorded a career-high 28 points on a career-high 11 made field goals and attempted 20 field goals for a .550 shooting percentage, including shooting 4-for-8 (.500) from the 3-point line and pulled down four rebounds with three assists and a steal.
 
Over the last three games, Hendrix is averaging 22.3 points per game on 25-for-32 (.472) shooting, including shooting 10-for-23 (.435) from the 3-point line, while averaging 4.3 rebounds per game and 2.0 assists per game.
 
Junior center Tiyonda Davis leads the team with 7.1 rebounds per game and with 2.6 blocks per game, which ranks tied for second in the MEAC and 26th in the NCAA.  Davis has recorded 47 blocks per game, which ranks second in the conference and 26th in the NCAA and is averaging 6.3 points per game.
 
The Athens, Ga., native has pulled down 607 career rebounds, which ties her for second place in school history in the Division I era with Kassiana Urnau, who played from 2003-06.
 
 
Over the last five games, Davis is averaging 11.8 points per game on 25-for-39 (.641) shooting, 9.0 rebounds per game, 3.4 blocks per game and 1.8 assists per game.
 
Junior forward Jeremica Edwards is averaging 7.1 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game.  Over the last seven games, the New Orleans, La., native is averaging 8.3 points per game on 26-for-52 (.500) shooting with 5.0 rebounds per game. 
 
In conference play, Hendrix is leading the team with 15.0 points per game, which ranks sixth in the MEAC and averaging 4.0 rebounds per game and 2.4 assists per game, while Davis is leading the team with 8.3 rebounds per game and with 3.0 blocks per game and is averaging 9.0 points per game on 27-for-45 (.600) shooting, which ranks second in the conference.
 
The last time out, the Lady Tigers snapped their two-game losing streak by defeating Norfolk State 68-53 Monday night in Norfolk, Va.  Hendrix led the team with 28 points on 11-for-20 shooting, including 4-for-8 from the 3-point line, while Davis recorded her first double-double of the season tying her career-high with 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting and adding 10 rebounds with four assists and three blocks.  Junior forward Jeremica Edwards added 10 points on 5-for-8 shooting with four rebounds.
 
The Lady Aggies lost their last time out to Coppin State 65-59 Wednesday night in Baltimore, Md., but have won the two previous games and five of the last seven games.  NCAT are led by April McRae with 12.9 points per game and with 6.5 rebounds per game, while Dana Brown is averaging 10.9 points per game and Kala Green is averaging 8.8 points per game.
 
As a team, the Lady Aggies are shooting 426-for-1132 (.376) overall and 103-for-346 (.298) from the 3-point line and is averaging 61.8 points per game and 38.2 rebounds per game with 250 assists, 30 blocks and 144 steals. 
 
The Lady Tigers finish their four-game roadstand in Daytona Beach, Fla., against Bethune-Cookman (11-9, 5-2 MEAC) on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
